Catch Up & SImple Luxuries

Good morning! Time to catch up! We’ve got 3 guinea pigs now. Our new addition is Rusty, the red and black one. They are all so sweet and they have such distinct personalities. We love them to pieces. I’m also very excited because I ordered a new king size black velvet comforter. Velvet is my favorite fabric. Our old one is tattered and sad. Treating oneself to new luxurious bedding is self-care for sure.

I’m still upping the dosage of one of my meds and I am feeling so much better. I didn’t blog because I felt pretty blah. But I’m back on track to mental health and happiness. My positivity is sneaking in again. I was pretty negative for awhile. Sometimes you don’t even realize how you’re perceiving the world until someone tells you. Luckily I have my partner to keep it real for me.

I’m going to be focusing on the simple luxuries and gratitude. Like velvet comforters, pink kimonos, rose skin cream, having a roof over my head, having a full fridge, homemade soy candles, draperies on the walls for a Morrocan tent feel (so bohemian!), family time balanced with solitude. There are so many possibilities to add passion and sensuality to your life. You don’t need to be rich to enjoy the good things. It’s just about appreciating what you have and seeing the beauty in the things around you.

Another simple luxury is important: Take care of yourself. Use the special things that are hiding in closets and hutches. Pamper yourself. Treat yourself often. Be your best self. Read. Make art. Journal. Take salt baths. All these things nurture your soul. You’re no good to anyone else until you take care of yourself first. You can’t pour from an empty vessel.

That’s all for today. I appreciate you all!

If you’d like to see more about my life I started Muses and Mirages on Instagram…it’s light so far but I will be adding much more. Follow if you want to see more.

Love, Catherine
